Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihail Micescu in the 8th minute of play forced Rotherham's goalkeeper Derek Rashleigh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 9 minutes, George Paisley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rotherham and the Roma AS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 9 played minutes Rotherham got a freekick which was hit by George Paisley. After some careless play in the Roma AS defense, Julian Waddington kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andrew Simmons. The Roma AS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andrew Simmons should have stopped the shot. In the 15th minute Ivor Norton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrew Simmons saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Rotherham's goal looked a bit too open when Mihail Micescu came free, but Derek Rashleigh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rotherham getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Julian Waddington hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Scott in the 22nd minute of play forced Roma AS's goalkeeper Andrew Simmons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Ripley was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 25 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Rotherham:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Roma AS:s goal. Mihail Micescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Roma AS's goal looked a bit too open when Ivor Norton came free, but Andrew Simmons reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Edgard Aires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derek Rashleigh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Fuller in the 39th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the game, Roma AS's Mihail Micescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Derek Rashleigh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 44 played minutes Rotherham got a freekick which was hit by Greg Land. The audience held their breath when Mihail Micescu in the 46th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Derek Rashleigh's left hand side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mihail Micescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, Roma AS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihail Micescu to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Mihail Micescu took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Derek Rashleigh to make any attempt to save it. In the 80th minute, Mihail Micescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Derek Rashleigh was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. In the 83rd match minute, Rotherham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivor Norton to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Rotherham's Derek Rashleigh got control of the ball when Mihail Micescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andrew Simmons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivor Norton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rotherham's Derek Rashleigh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Rotherham from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by John Scott during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Han Chang Yue received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Derek Rashleigh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, Rotherham's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Aires came free, but Derek Rashleigh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roma AS played a much better game than Rotherham and deserved their victory. The Rotherham players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
