Oadby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerome Layfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 7thth minute of the game Seth Crawshaw who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Smallfield City's Kyle Bullard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Seth Crawshaw scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kyle Bullard , who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Seth Crawshaw's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kyle Bullard was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Kyle Bullard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerome Layfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Kyle Bullard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Seth Crawshaw's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 25thth minute of the game Seth Crawshaw who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Smallfield City's Kyle Bullard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Oadby's Seth Crawshaw got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zak Fields sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Austin Everett's late challenge caught a Smallfield City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Austin Everett helped the player get up and apologised. In the 30th match minute, Oadby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Austin Everett to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Oadby booed when Smallfield City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wayne Hughes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gerry Cawood fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oadby's protests and gave Gerry Cawood a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Smallfield City booed when Oadby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerry Cawood didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Oadby's Kamil Grabara got control of the ball when Zak Fields tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Seth Crawshaw was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joshua Mansfield in the 51st minute of play forced Smallfield City's goalkeeper Kyle Bullard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnnie England hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Kyle Bullard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joshua Mansfield in the 58th minute of play. Seth Crawshaw struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Kyle Bullard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oadby. Jerome Layfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kyle Bullard having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Seth Crawshaw got free with Kyle Bullard in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kyle Bullard made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Seth Crawshaw sent off a good shot on target. Oadby's Seth Crawshaw managed to work through Smallfield City's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Seth Crawshaw dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Oadby made a substitution. Martyn Jennings replaced Joshua Mansfield. When Philip Kerr fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Smallfield City's protests and gave Philip Kerr a yellow card for diving instead. Seth Crawshaw recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Smallfield City's Kyle Bullard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerome Layfield in the 86th minute of play. Kyle Bullard didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Oadby's Martyn Jennings shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Seth Crawshaw who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Kyle Bullard when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Oadby played a much better game than Smallfield City and deserved their victory. The Smallfield City players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
