An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Feeney in the 6th minute of play forced Tooting's goalkeeper Chip Blewitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Belfast Rebels FC's Billy Feeney got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Belfast Rebels FC's Derek Wood ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Chip Blewitt. Chip Blewitt yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Chip Blewitt made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Reuben Auckland sent off a good shot on target. Oliver Westwood's late challenge caught a Belfast Rebels FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oliver Westwood helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Tooting's Oliver Westwood got a free kick in the 24th minute. With a little luck, Tooting's Chip Blewitt got control of the ball when Derek Wood tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chip Blewitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Feeney in the 36th minute of play. Reuben Auckland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Chip Blewitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chip Blewitt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Feeney, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oliver Westwood made a kick off. Derek Carragher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Westwood, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The supporters of Belfast Rebels FC booed when Tooting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenneth Partridge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chip Blewitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Blake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reuben Auckland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Derek Wood in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chip Blewitt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chip Blewitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reuben Auckland in the 65th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Derek Wood notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Tooting's Chip Blewitt. Chip Blewitt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Belfast Rebels FC booed when Tooting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Westwood didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Billy Feeney came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Belfast Rebels FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Billy Feeney couldn't finish the play. Chip Blewitt came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Belfast Rebels FC's Billy Feeney. But to his dismay, Billy Feeney quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0.
