After some careless play in the Yapton defense, 严朋昆 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcus King. The Yapton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcus King should have stopped the shot. In the 7th match minute, Yapton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jez Peacock to maneuver through the defense. Terry Mayfield took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcus King. Yapton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 16th match minute, Yapton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Stone to maneuver through the defense. Frank Blackwater took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcus King. Yapton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cheadle's Glyn Boulton got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 严朋昆 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus King having to interfere. Alan da Fonseca hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Derek Darko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tony Stone kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 严朋昆 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the match, Alan da Fonseca notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Yapton's Marcus King. Marcus King was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 39 played minutes Yapton got a freekick which was hit by Geoff McParland. In the 45th minute, Terry Mayfield left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cheadle fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. After the first half Cheadle were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Alan da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Marcus King tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 53 played minutes Yapton got a freekick which was hit by Jez Peacock. 57 minutes into the match, Yapton's goalkeeper Marcus King had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alan da Fonseca. 严朋昆 received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcus King came out and tried to block the shot, but 严朋昆 slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Cheadle's Lloyd Mumford nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcus King made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. 63 minutes into the game, Alan da Fonseca recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcus King. Alan da Fonseca showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. Yapton's Marcus King played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 严朋昆 in the 67th minute of play. In the 74th minute, Tony Stone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 严朋昆 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus King having to interfere. In the 77th minute of the match, Derek Darko got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcus King was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 严朋昆 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Alan da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan da Fonseca succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-11 in the 83rd playminute. Alan da Fonseca took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcus King. Marcus King dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-12. Terry Mayfield received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcus King came out and tried to block the shot, but Terry Mayfield slotted it home off the left post making it 0-13 in the 91st minute. Alan da Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus King read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Derek Darko's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcus King firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cheadle played a much better game than Yapton and deserved their victory. The Yapton players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
