But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marlon Mumford couldn't finish the play. Rain Kuusk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus King having to interfere. Freddie Boston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 15th minute, Ergün Senih made a precise shot to the right of Marcus King. Yapton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ergün Senih took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcus King. Marcus King dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Marcus King took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ergün Senih, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rain Kuusk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus King read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. If Ergün Senih had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Flamengo's 柯誉海 got control of the ball when Geoff McParland tried to sneak it across the goal line. The nice shot from Tony Stone in the 36thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but 柯誉海 had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoff McParland in the 36th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper 柯誉海 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geoff McParland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but 柯誉海 made a huge save. In the 42nd minute Ciarán Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 柯誉海 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ergün Senih had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ciarán Jones made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Rory Trimble got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Stone came free, but 柯誉海 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Yapton's Ciarán Jones got a free kick in the 55th minute. Rain Kuusk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus King having to interfere. Marcus King was a little too slow when Ergün Senih got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 0-4. In the 75th minute, Marlon Mumford made a precise shot to the right of Marcus King. Yapton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Geoff McParland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yapton's supporters rose to their feet, but Geoff McParland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 柯誉海 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 柯誉海 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geoff McParland, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the match, Geoff McParland had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of 柯誉海. Flamengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geoff McParland was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Ergün Senih fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus King having to interfere. After having played for 92 minutes, Geoff McParland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yapton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geoff McParland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Geoff McParland scored 2-5 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of 柯誉海, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flamengo's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
