Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ciarán Jones made the kick off which started today's match. Marcus King was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Austin Trueman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Austin Trueman really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Tony Stone had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Greg Reddington. Taverham AF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tony Stone was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Taverham AF's Toby Coogan got a free kick in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoff McParland in the 24th minute of play forced Taverham AF's goalkeeper Greg Reddington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Yapton's Dean Bloomfield got a free kick in the 29th minute. The audience was convinced that Tony Stone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Greg Reddington was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ciarán Jones in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Greg Reddington prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 37 minutes, Ted Hoult mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taverham AF and the Yapton players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Taverham AF getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Ted Hoult hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Taverham AF's zone, Tony Stone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greg Reddington came out of the goal and Tony Stone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tony Stone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Yapton were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 61st minute, Taverham AF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tony Stone fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 64 minutes into the game, Austin Trueman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Marcus King was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Taverham AF's Greg Reddington got control of the ball when Tony Stone tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Yapton's Stiff Browne got a free kick in the 76th minute. After 82 minutes of play, Yapton's Tony Stone made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Greg Reddington was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tony Stones short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Greg Reddington to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ciarán Jones's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Greg Reddington read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Yapton's Tony Stone got a free kick in the 98th minute. Yapton's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
