Spectators: 6761 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Boethis Cooney kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Pat Coyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boethis Cooney's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dolan Hughes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Baine Ramsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keegan McWilliam in the 5th minute of play. When Pat Coyle fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Drin AFC's protests and gave Pat Coyle a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Derryheena booed when Drin AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pat Coyle didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes Boethis Cooney rounded Drin AFC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Kain Barrett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Keegan McWilliam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baine Ramsey having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boethis Cooney in the 32nd minute of play forced Drin AFC's goalkeeper Dolan Hughes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boethis Cooney recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Baine Ramsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keegan McWilliam in the 38th minute of play. Keegan McWilliam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Boethis Cooney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Keegan McWilliam made a kick off. Kain Barrett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baine Ramsey having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keegan McWilliam in the 57th minute of play forced Derryheena's goalkeeper Baine Ramsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Keegan McWilliam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baine Ramsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Boethis Cooney's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dolan Hughes was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Drin AFC's goalkeeper Dolan Hughes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 64th minute Beglan Tracy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dolan Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kain Barrett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Baine Ramsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dolan Hughes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beglan Tracy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kain Barretts short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Baine Ramsey to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Keegan McWilliam's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baine Ramsey was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Baine Ramsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rorke Mulvihill in the 89th minute of the match. A collision led to Drin AFC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Pat Coyle hit a great ball. Derryheena's Baine Ramsey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Derryheena from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Derryheena fans cheered their team off the field, for while Drin AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
