After 12 minutes, Bevan Ghee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballyfahy and the Gormanstown AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eoin Horgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baydan McCollion, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Bel Todd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baydan McCollion in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eoin Horgan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eoin Horgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braedon Savic, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Ryan Byrne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Piers Ryan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eoin Horgan having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Ryan Byrne could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Quaid McJon however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Gormanstown AFC's Quaid McJon got control of the ball when Ryan Byrne tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballyfahy's goalkeeper Eoin Horgan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eoin Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bel Todd in the 45th minute of play. Eoin Horgan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baydan McCollion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 48th minute Bel Todd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eoin Horgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Toran McSteve stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Baydan McCollion's late challenge caught a Ballyfahy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baydan McCollion helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Gormanstown AFC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Baydan McCollion hit a great ball. Baydan McCollion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Eoin Horgan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Toran McSteve managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballyfahy's supporters rose to their feet, but Toran McSteve was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Quaid McJon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th minute, Gormanstown AFC's Baydan McCollion dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. 63 minutes into the match, Gormanstown AFC's Bel Todd sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eoin Horgan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eoin Horgan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Braedon Savic showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 68 minute of play. In the 75th minute Toran McSteve shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quaid McJon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Gormanstown AFC's Blaire McStephen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eoin Horgan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Baydan McCollion's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eoin Horgan was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Eoin Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baydan McCollion in the 83rd minute of play. After 84th play minutes Baydan McCollion shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Eoin Horgan and just under the crossbar into goal. If Baydan McCollion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bevan Ghee kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Gormanstown AFC played a much better game than Ballyfahy and deserved their victory. The Ballyfahy players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
