The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kyle Colwell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suibhne McMichel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Suibhne McMichel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kyle Colwell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breasal McLian hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The supporters of Strand booed when Kilchreest FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Curran McWilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Gavin Dalton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavin Dalton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kyle Colwell having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kilchreest FC's zone, Bearach O'Keefe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brenainn McAlphie came out of the goal and Bearach O'Keefe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kilchreest FC's Keely Ramsey was substituted for Suibhne McMichel. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After having played for 52 minutes, Keely Ramsey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kilchreest FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keely Ramsey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Shamus McPaul charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shamus McPaul the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 62 played minutes Strand got a freekick which was hit by Shamus McPaul. In the 67th minute, Kilchreest FC's Keely Ramsey dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Keely Ramsey who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Kyle Colwell when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 77th minute, Beairtle McAlphie made a precise shot to the right of Brenainn McAlphie. Kilchreest FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. A collision led to Kilchreest FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Curran McWilliam hit a great ball. Strand's Kyle McWill couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Kilchreest FC. Beairtle McAlphie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Kilchreest FC's Breasal McLian got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute Bearach O'Keefe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brenainn McAlphie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Kilchreest FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Breasal McLian hit a great ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
