After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Brakawn Horgan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calluragh's supporters rose to their feet, but Brakawn Horgan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Philip Ferguson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tipraite McBrandon charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tipraite McBrandon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Calluragh booed when Cloonascragh AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tipraite McBrandon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boynton McVictor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Boylan Silke in the 7th minute. After some careless play in the Cloonascragh AFC defense, Baiste Scully kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Philip Ferguson. The Cloonascragh AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Philip Ferguson should have stopped the shot. Philip Ferguson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brakawn Horgan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the game, Calluragh's Críostóir Kirby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Philip Ferguson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Philip Ferguson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brakawn Horgan in the 22nd minute of play. Donell Frankson hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The referee gave Calluragh a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Donell Frankson, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cloonascragh AFC's Philip Ferguson. 0-3. 31 minutes into the match, Tipraite McBrandon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Boynton McVictor, 1-3. After a rather tough play, Calluragh's Brendon Palmer got a free kick in the 35th minute. After 39 played minutes Cloonascragh AFC got a freekick which was hit by Reidy McWill. Calluragh's Brakawn Horgan got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Baiste Scully left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Calluragh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. The referee showed Boylan Silke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 47 minutes into the match, Brakawn Horgan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Philip Ferguson. Cloonascragh AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brakawn Horgan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Disappointed in the 1-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brakawn Horgan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Calluragh got a freekick which was hit by Treno McWillie. Philip Ferguson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brakawn Horgan, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. If Brakawn Horgan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cloonascragh AFC's zone, Rooney Byrne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philip Ferguson came out of the goal and Rooney Byrne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brakawn Horgan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Philip Ferguson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brendon Palmer during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cloonascragh AFC's Philip Ferguson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Cloonascragh AFC from getting a goal against them. Philip Ferguson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Críostóir Kirby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brakawn Horgan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Philip Ferguson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Calluragh's Philip Ferguson threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Críostóir Kirby, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Brakawn Horgan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boylan Silke in the 87th minute of play forced Calluragh's goalkeeper Boynton McVictor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Treno McWillie's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Philip Ferguson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brakawn Horgan got free with Philip Ferguson in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
