Ballyhook FC's Bernard Cooney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Ballyhook FC from getting a goal against them. Beineon McCready charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ros Doherty was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ballyhook FC's zone, Bragan McDecland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernard Cooney came out of the goal and Bragan McDecland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute, Ros Doherty left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Derren fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 85th match minute, Derren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryley McTommy to maneuver through the defense. Donelle Willson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brigid Doherty having to interfere. When Beineon McCready was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. A collision led to Ballyhook FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Beineon McCready hit a great ball. Bernard Cooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bragan McDecland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ballyhook FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Derren.
