Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lewis Gough took the kick off in the first half of the match. 15 minutes into the game, Spellickanee's Berkley Beckett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aubrey McPaul made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dermot Jameson got free with Gilbert O'Down in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 26th minute Lewis Gough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aubrey McPaul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dermot Jameson in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilbert O'Down saved Spellickanee from getting behind. A hard shot 29 in the game by Dermot Jameson from a close distance when the talented Gilbert O'Down managed to make a qualified save. Spellickanee's players were relieved. In the 31st match minute, Spellickanee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joshua Myler to maneuver through the defense. Berke McOliver blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilbert O'Down having to make a save. After the first half Spellickanee were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Renny McWilliam's late challenge caught a Spellickanee's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renny McWilliam helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Spellickanee booed when Cork was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renny McWilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilbert O'Down made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iarla Prunty in the 56th minute of play. Gilbert O'Down guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 1-1 became the score in the 82nd minute when Dermot Jameson elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Cork's Dermot Jameson got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Donoghue Ramsey fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cork's protests and gave Donoghue Ramsey a yellow card for diving instead. Donoghue Ramsey hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
