Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Dermot Jameson made the kick off which started today's match. Breck Costello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aubrey McPaul having to interfere. When Cork's Brendan Lavine in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ballyhook FC's goalie prevented a goal. Bernard Cooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dermot Jameson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th match minute, Ballyhook FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breck Costello to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute of the match Donoghue Ramsey sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bernard Cooney skillfully saved the ball. Harry Costello charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Harry Costello the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th match minute, Ballyhook FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Costello to maneuver through the defense. Tobin McSteven got a throw-in 46 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dermot Jameson. Brendan Lavine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Bernard Cooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Finbar McBrand stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tobin McSteven hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Cork defense, Finbar McBrand kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aubrey McPaul. The Cork fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aubrey McPaul should have stopped the shot. After 57 played minutes Cork got a freekick which was hit by Bedilia Deery. After a defensive mix-up in Cork's zone, Breck Costello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aubrey McPaul came out of the goal and Breck Costello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Harry Costello made in the 62nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Finbar McBrand however managed to control. In the 67th minute, Finbar McBrand ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aubrey McPaul was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A sloppy throw-in by Harry Costello in the 70th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Cork's Bedilia Deery. After having played for 72 minutes, Breck Costello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballyhook FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breck Costello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cork's zone, Donelle Willson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aubrey McPaul came out of the goal and Donelle Willson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Breck Costello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballyhook FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breck Costello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cork's Aubrey McPaul played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breck Costello in the 90th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Finbar McBrand in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aubrey McPaul prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ballyhook FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
