Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dermot Jameson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Rory Deans struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Aubrey McPaul didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cloongowla. Aubrey McPaul came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Cloongowla's Kerrigan Mullan. But to his dismay, Kerrigan Mullan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Cork's Aubrey McPaul played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerrigan Mullan in the 17th minute of play. Aubrey McPaul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Binnech Tracy, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Brendan Lavine charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brendan Lavine the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute, Brendan Lavine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerrigan Mullan in the 26th minute of play forced Cork's goalkeeper Aubrey McPaul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Bressal Hamilton came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Cloongowla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bressal Hamilton couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Binnech Tracy got free with Aubrey McPaul in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the game, Tobin McSteven was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cork's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cloongowla the free kick. A collision led to Cork getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Tobin McSteven hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Binnech Tracy got free with Aubrey McPaul in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aubrey McPaul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerrigan Mullan in the 42nd minute of the match. Aubrey McPaul didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rory Deans went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rory Deans made a kick off. Cork were furious when Devlin Moran was red carded, 56 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 56th minute, one of Cork:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cork. Cork's Dermot Jameson got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aubrey McPaul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bressal Hamilton in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Kerrigan Mullan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Aubrey McPaul was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Cloongowla booed when Cork was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iarla Prunty didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, Bressal Hamilton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rory Deans in the 79th minute of play forced Cork's goalkeeper Aubrey McPaul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Cloongowla's Binnech Tracy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aubrey McPaul made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. After a rather tough play, Cork's Dermot Jameson got a free kick in the 87th minute. Cloongowla's Rory Deans got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 94 minutes into the match, Binnech Tracy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aubrey McPaul. Cork's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Binnech Tracy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. In the 98th minute, Donoghue Ramsey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Cork's zone, Bressal Hamilton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aubrey McPaul came out of the goal and Bressal Hamilton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cloongowla walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
