Finnigan McMichel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Garr FC's goal looked a bit too open when Donelle Willson came free, but Breffni Tracy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 minutes, Suibhne McCollion mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garr FC and the Ballyhook FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ballyhook FC booed when Garr FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Suibhne McCollion didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Finbar McBrand fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballyhook FC's protests and gave Finbar McBrand a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Garr FC booed when Ballyhook FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Finbar McBrand didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Suibhne McCollion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donelle Willson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Breffni Tracy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernard Cooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Finnigan McMichel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Breck Costello kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Ballyhook FC's Finbar McBrand nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Breffni Tracy made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. A collision led to Ballyhook FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Donelle Willson hit a great ball. With a little luck, Ballyhook FC's Bernard Cooney got control of the ball when Brennen Ryan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Finbar McBrand to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Finbar McBrand fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Garr FC's Brennen Ryan got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 62 played minutes Ballyhook FC got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Silke. If Breck Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bernard Cooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suibhne McCollion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Finbar McBrand had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Breffni Tracy. Garr FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Finbar McBrand was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Banon Ryan charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Banon Ryan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Banon Ryan hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 84 minutes into the game, when Samuel Silke put in a rough tackle. If Finnigan McMichel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Ballyhook FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Garr FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
