Pearse Hutton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berchan McTommy in the 6th minute of play. After 11 played minutes Ballyboy got a freekick which was hit by Artur McLiam. Brannen McDecland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Pearse Hutton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Breaghdha McJohnny fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canningstown FC's protests and gave Breaghdha McJohnny a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ballyboy booed when Canningstown FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breaghdha McJohnny didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Jeremiah Kelly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pearse Hutton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berchan McTommy, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Pearse Hutton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremiah Kelly in the 26th minute of play. Pearse Hutton made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Brannen McDecland sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Pearse Hutton managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Canningstown FC's Brannen McDecland fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 31 minutes into the match, Brannen McDecland notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ballyboy's Pearse Hutton. Pearse Hutton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brannen McDecland got free with Pearse Hutton in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Conaill Scully showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don McNamee, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Canningstown FC's goal looked a bit too open when Don McNamee came free, but Conaill Scully reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremiah Kelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Pearse Hutton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ballyboy's Pearse Hutton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brannen McDecland in the 44th minute of play. Brannen McDecland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pearse Hutton having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Artur McLiam to make the kick off. Brigid Branson's late challenge caught a Canningstown FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brigid Branson helped the player get up and apologised. Brannen McDecland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Pearse Hutton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremiah Kelly in the 69th minute of the match. Jeremiah Kelly's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pearse Hutton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 79th match minute, Ballyboy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cassidy McVictor to maneuver through the defense. During the 89th minute of the match Brigid Branson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Brigid Branson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Canningstown FC booed when Ballyboy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brigid Branson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brannen McDecland hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Canningstown FC fully deserved thier win.
