Spectators: 6780 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Breaghdha Mullan started the match with the kick off. Artur McLiam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Braonain Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10 played minutes, Ardranny's Carson Willson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pearse Hutton came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ardranny reached it. Breaghdha Mullan took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pearse Hutton. Pearse Hutton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Breaghdha Mullan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ardranny's Braonain Hughes got control of the ball when Don McNamee tried to sneak it across the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Don McNamee had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Braonain Hughes. Ardranny's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Don McNamee was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur McLiam in the 26th minute of play forced Ardranny's goalkeeper Braonain Hughes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Braonain Hughes was a little too slow when Don McNamee got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 32nd minute, Don McNamee left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ballyboy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 41st minute, Don McNamee reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Braonain Hughes. The goal made the score 4-1. When Conleth McNamara came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ardranny fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conleth McNamara couldn't finish the play. In the 48th minute, Breaghdha Mullan made a precise shot to the right of Pearse Hutton. Ballyboy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Artur McLiam to make the kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Artur McLiam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ardranny's Braonain Hughes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Ardranny:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ballyboy:s goal. Conleth McNamara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Pearse Hutton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Conleth McNamara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tadhg Molloy charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tadhg Molloy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee gave Ballyboy a penalty, 68 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Beanon Palmer, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ardranny's Braonain Hughes. 6-2. Kerrigan McNamee kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After having played for 80 minutes, Breaghdha Mullan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ardranny's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breaghdha Mullan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beanon Palmer hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beanon Palmer during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Ballyboy got a freekick which was hit by Beanon Palmer. Ardranny's Breaghdha Mullan got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 98th minute of the match, Breaghdha Mullan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pearse Hutton saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 103 minutes, Raymond McAlphie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ardranny and the Ballyboy players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 103 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ardranny! Ardranny's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
