In the 9th minute, Ron Costello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Barram Robinson came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Moytirra Utd's John McLian. But to his dismay, John McLian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Bairne Deery hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Ron Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 21st minute, John McLian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Moytirra Utd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 24th minute of the match Breaghdha Cronin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Barram Robinson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Boru Gough hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute of the match Boddibevve Jameson shot from a long distance. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Boolyglass's goalkeeper Barram Robinson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. John McLian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 42 minutes, John McLian managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moytirra Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but John McLian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Moytirra Utd's Comhghall Coyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desmond Doherty in the 45th minute of play. John McLian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John McLian made a kick off. After 53 minutes, Finian Colwell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boolyglass and the Moytirra Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice moves Ron Costello could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Barram Robinson however easily saved by the left post. Desmond Doherty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comhghall Coyle having to interfere. Desmond Doherty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ron Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barram Robinson was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and John McLian capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. John McLian really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Boolyglass's zone, Bairne Deery stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barram Robinson came out of the goal and Bairne Deery tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 78 minutes into the match, Boolyglass's goal looked a bit too open when John McLian came free, but Barram Robinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moytirra Utd's Comhghall Coyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desmond Doherty in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Moytirra Utd's Bairne Deery got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Brendan Duggan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Comhghall Coyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Moytirra Utd players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
