Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bhrighde Taylor took the kick off in the first half of the match. Cuilkillew's Finn Silke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bil McPeter in the 3rd minute of play. Finn Silke made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Glen McLaughlin sent off a good shot on target. In the 6th minute, Cleary Lester left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cuilkillew fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 10thth minute of the game Bhrighde Taylor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballynakilla Utd's Rowland Glen Crowe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Ballynakilla Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Bhrighde Taylor came free, but Rowland Glen Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cleary Lester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Rowland Glen Crowe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Ballynakilla Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Bhrighde Taylor came free, but Rowland Glen Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cleary Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ballynakilla Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cuilkillew the free kick. In the 27th match minute, Ballynakilla Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Treno Ramsey to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Cuilkillew's Derin Frankson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bil McPeter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Finn Silke having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Glen McLaughlin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballynakilla Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Glen McLaughlin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Finn Silke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bil McPeter struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Finn Silke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballynakilla Utd. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bil McPeter in the 39th minute of play forced Cuilkillew's goalkeeper Finn Silke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The attack was good, but when Bil McPeter in the 41st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glen McLaughlin got free with Finn Silke in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Bil McPeter made the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Cuilkillew's goal looked a bit too open when Pearce Bayes came free, but Finn Silke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cuilkillew's Bhrighde Taylor got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Finn Silke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glen McLaughlin in the 64th minute of the match. A collision led to Cuilkillew getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Seán Ryan hit a great ball. In the 70th match minute, Ballynakilla Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torrans Glen Crowe to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Ballynakilla Utd's Rowland Glen Crowe got control of the ball when Derin Frankson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Finn Silke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bil McPeter, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen McLaughlin in the 78th minute of play forced Cuilkillew's goalkeeper Finn Silke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rowland Glen Crowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bhrighde Taylor, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Finn Silke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen McLaughlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, Cuilkillew's Bhrighde Taylor dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Seán Ryan's late challenge caught a Ballynakilla Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Seán Ryan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ballynakilla Utd booed when Cuilkillew was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seán Ryan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cuilkillew's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
