Spectators: 6762 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Beara McBjarton took the kick off in the first half of the match. Artuir Dempsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beara McBjarton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 9 minutes, Peadar Dunne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Knockatee AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peadar Dunne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Leap AFC's zone, Biddy Costello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bannan Tierney came out of the goal and Biddy Costello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Peadar Dunne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beara McBjarton charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Beara McBjarton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Beara McBjarton kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Peadar Dunne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bannan Tierney having to interfere. Beara McBjarton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artuir Dempsey was a little too slow when Beara McBjarton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 1-0. Bannan Tierney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Biddy Costello, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After 44 minutes, Breas McJohn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leap AFC and the Knockatee AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Peadar Dunne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute Biddy Costello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bannan Tierney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Biddy Costello to make the kick off. Beara McBjarton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Artuir Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beara McBjarton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artuir Dempsey having to interfere. In the 67th match minute, Leap AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biviti McSteven to maneuver through the defense. Artuir Dempsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beara McBjarton in the 86th minute of play. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Knockatee AFC's goalkeeper Artuir Dempsey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, Gordan Sheridan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beara McBjarton struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Artuir Dempsey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leap AFC.
