Spectators: 6769 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 0) Biddy Costello started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Artuir Dempsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bil McPeter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Bil McPeter came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Ballynakilla Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bil McPeter couldn't finish the play. When Blathmacc Robinson fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Knockatee AFC's protests and gave Blathmacc Robinson a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Knockatee AFC! If Bil McPeter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Glen McLaughlin put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Artuir Dempsey. Artuir Dempsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen McLaughlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute, Gordan Sheridan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Knockatee AFC's Artuir Dempsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bil McPeter in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th match minute, Knockatee AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ros Cooney to maneuver through the defense. After 33 minutes of play, Ballynakilla Utd's Bil McPeter made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Artuir Dempsey was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Glen McLaughlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bil McPeter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Artuir Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bil McPeter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Artuir Dempsey didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ballynakilla Utd's Glen McLaughlin shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-4 in the ordered_time% minute. A collision led to Ballynakilla Utd getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Bil McPeter hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Peadar Dunne could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Rowland Glen Crowe however easily saved by the left post. Pearce Bayes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bil McPeter to strike the kick off in the second half. Artuir Dempsey didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bil McPeter went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. A hard shot by Peyton Gillmour from long distance, 56 minutes into the match, got Artuir Dempsey's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 57thth minute of the game Bil McPeter who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Knockatee AFC's Artuir Dempsey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glen McLaughlin got free with Artuir Dempsey in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th match minute, Knockatee AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gordan Sheridan to maneuver through the defense. Rowland Glen Crowe came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Knockatee AFC's Kevin Caffey. But to his dismay, Kevin Caffey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. If Bil McPeter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artuir Dempsey was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Bil McPeter capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bil McPeter really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bil McPeter in the 85th minute of play forced Knockatee AFC's goalkeeper Artuir Dempsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bil McPeter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bil McPeter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Knockatee AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ballynakilla Utd were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
