Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) A collision led to Ballintogher getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Hewney McBrandon hit a great ball. Finian Branson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brigid Savic in the 7th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bearnad Doyle in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Finian Branson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donal Morrison in the 12th minute of play forced Ballintogher's goalkeeper Todd Dempsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bearnad Doyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Finian Branson having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Bearnad Doyle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballintogher's supporters rose to their feet, but Bearnad Doyle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Finian Branson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the match, Gortroe's goalkeeper Finian Branson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brigid Savic. After 30 minutes, Edwin Molloy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gortroe and the Ballintogher players grew even worse after the yellow card. Edwin Molloy hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the game, Donal Morrison cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Todd Dempsey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Finian Branson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bearnad Doyle in the 40th minute of the match. Todd Dempsey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Sheridan, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Ballintogher's Bearnad Doyle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Finian Branson narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bearnad Doyle to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Bearnad Doyle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Finian Branson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Ballintogher's Brigid Savic in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gortroe's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Gortroe booed when Ballintogher was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breadan Bayes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Ballintogher's Brigid Savic sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Finian Branson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bearnad Doyle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Finian Branson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Kyle McSteven hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gortroe's goalkeeper Finian Branson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Don Sheridan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute there was a penalty for Ballintogher. Payton Todd stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Finian Branson. 3-1. If Donal Morrison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bearnad Doyle struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Finian Branson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballintogher. After having played for 93 minutes, Bearnad Doyle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballintogher's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bearnad Doyle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ballintogher's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
