After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Caroll Myler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knockbodaly's supporters rose to their feet, but Caroll Myler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toran Moran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peadair MaCollin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Robert Walker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Robert Walker came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Knockbodaly fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Walker couldn't finish the play. Toran Moran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peadair MaCollin, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 21st minute, Aodh Todd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Fergus AFC's zone, Peadair MaCollin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toran Moran came out of the goal and Peadair MaCollin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Knockbodaly's Peadair MaCollin got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Peadair MaCollin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peadair MaCollin struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Toran Moran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Knockbodaly. With a left leg Toran Moran saved Fergus AFC from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Robert Walker stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Peadair MaCollin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Toran Moran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donavan McPaul kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Peadair MaCollin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Fergus AFC's Rowen McWilliam got a free kick in the 59th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Robert Walker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peadair MaCollin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Toran Moran when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 66thth minute of the game Robert Walker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fergus AFC's Toran Moran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Robert Walker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnold Branson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rylie Dimson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Peadair MaCollin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jack Ghee during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jack Ghee hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fergus AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 77th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Knockbodaly a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Breanne Deery, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fergus AFC's Toran Moran. 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peadair MaCollin got free with Toran Moran in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Robert Walker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toran Moran having to interfere. Becc Cooney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toran Moran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Walker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aodh Todd's late challenge caught a Knockbodaly's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aodh Todd helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute, Aodh Todd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caroll Myler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 102nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toran Moran having to interfere. The Fergus AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Knockbodaly were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
