The Nolagh fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Nolagh's Roordan Rutherford looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Piers Martyn kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Piers Martyn fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Lugnadeffa's goal looked a bit too open when Thom Glen Crowe came free, but George McIan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 minutes, Boyne McWillie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lugnadeffa and the Nolagh players grew even worse after the yellow card. Boyne McWillie kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute of the match Conaill McAaron sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but George McIan skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Thom Glen Crowe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nolagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thom Glen Crowe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 25 minutes, Thom Glen Crowe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nolagh and the Lugnadeffa players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 25 played minutes Nolagh got a freekick which was hit by Thom Glen Crowe. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roordan Rutherford in the 27th minute of play forced Lugnadeffa's goalkeeper George McIan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Piers Martyn to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roordan Rutherford in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck George McIan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Loughlin McWillie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piers Martyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Piers Martyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nolagh's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. George McIan came out of the goal and Roordan Rutherford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Nolagh's Roordan Rutherford slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of George McIan. That made the score 0-2 after 87 minutes of play. After 92 played minutes Lugnadeffa got a freekick which was hit by Donal Mulvihill. After a defensive mix-up in Lugnadeffa's zone, Roordan Rutherford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George McIan came out of the goal and Roordan Rutherford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nolagh's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
