Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Darragh Costello started the match with the kick off. Laurencetown's Coran McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David McBjarton in the 3rd minute of play. When Laurencetown's Tomás McCready in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cloonbannin's goalie prevented a goal. Aubrey John stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomás McCready's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Tomás McCready who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Aubrey John when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tomás McCready's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Aubrey John skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With his leg Aubrey John managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Laurencetown's Tomás McCready fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 16th minute Seoirse Prunty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Coran McJohnny saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Laurencetown defense, David McBjarton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Coran McJohnny. The Laurencetown fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Coran McJohnny should have stopped the shot. Tomás McCready kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Laurencetown's Coran McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David McBjarton in the 25th minute of play. With his leg Aubrey John managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Laurencetown's Tomás McCready fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Tomás McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rdth minute of the game Tomás McCready who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cloonbannin's Aubrey John was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Berchan McPhil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laurencetown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Berchan McPhil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Cloonbannin booed when Laurencetown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brickeen Sheridan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Seoirse Prunty ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Coran McJohnny was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 43rd minute, Laurencetown's Tomás McCready ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aubrey John. Aubrey John yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás McCready in the 52nd minute of play forced Cloonbannin's goalkeeper Aubrey John to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aubrey John showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás McCready, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After some careless play in the Cloonbannin defense, Berchan McPhil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aubrey John. The Cloonbannin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aubrey John should have stopped the shot. Saoirse McLian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beglan Ferguson charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Beglan Ferguson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Laurencetown getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Brickeen Sheridan hit a great ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Aron Gillmour managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cloonbannin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aron Gillmour was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 71 minutes into the match, Laurencetown's goalkeeper Coran McJohnny had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David McBjarton. In the 72nd minute, Cloonbannin's Seoirse Prunty dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. 75 minutes into the game, Darragh Costello recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Coran McJohnny. Darragh Costello showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. In the 80th minute, Cloonbannin's Darragh Costello ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Coran McJohnny. Coran McJohnny yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-5. Berchan McPhil struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Aubrey John didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laurencetown. If Berchan McPhil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saoirse McLian in the 88th minute of play forced Cloonbannin's goalkeeper Aubrey John to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Coran McJohnny took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darragh Costello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, Cloonbannin's goal looked a bit too open when Berchan McPhil came free, but Aubrey John reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chants of Cloonbannin echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Laurencetown had held the ball for most of the match.
