The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Cloonbannin booed when Graystown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricard Lester didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darragh Costello in the 6th minute of play forced Graystown's goalkeeper Philib Delaney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the game, one of Graystown:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Philib Delaney, was totally fooled by Cloonbannin's Buach Perth, who 10 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The audience was convinced that Darragh Costello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Philib Delaney was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. When Farrell Molloy fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Graystown's protests and gave Farrell Molloy a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Graystown getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Farrell Molloy hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Seoirse Prunty during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Seoirse Prunty hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Darragh Costello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philib Delaney having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Cloonbannin's Darragh Costello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Philib Delaney narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 23rd match minute, Graystown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Farrell Molloy to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Buach Perth from long distance, 24 minutes into the match, got Philib Delaney's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Seoirse Prunty kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Baiste Caffrey took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aubrey John. Cloonbannin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Gearoid Jameson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Philib Delaney made an important save on a dangerous shot by David McBjarton in the 32nd minute. After having played for 35 minutes, David McBjarton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cloonbannin's supporters crossed their fingers, but David McBjarton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Philib Delaney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darragh Costello in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Graystown's goalkeeper Philib Delaney had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David McBjarton. Donegal Cronin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Aubrey John tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Graystown's zone, Darragh Costello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philib Delaney came out of the goal and Darragh Costello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Gearoid Jameson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Aubrey John made a huge save. Cloonbannin's Aubrey John proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Cloonbannin from getting a goal against them. Baiste Caffrey hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute of the match Buach Perth shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Philib Delaney showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Beglan Ferguson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Philib Delaney. Graystown's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Beglan Ferguson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Darragh Costello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute Darragh Costello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philib Delaney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gearoid Jameson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Philib Delaney was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. David McBjarton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David McBjarton struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Philib Delaney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cloonbannin. When the referee ended the match the Cloonbannin players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
