Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 19 minutes into the game, one of Millroad:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Brite Keegan went to the wrong direction when Colmcille McBrand was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Richard Silke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Banban McTommy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Millroad's Brite Keegan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brak Hutton in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute Paul McAaron suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. In the 28th match minute, Millroad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abbot McWillie to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Clogga getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Herich Robinson hit a great ball. When Millroad's Richard Silke in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clogga's goalie prevented a goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Finian McPhilip couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute, Torey Willson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 41 played minutes Millroad got a freekick which was hit by Barran Glen Crowe. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dermot Dunne got free with Brite Keegan in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dermot Dunne to make the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Richard Silke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Millroad's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
