Loughlin McWillie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryon Callaghan in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute Roordan Rutherford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Ramsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Brian Ramsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brennon McPhilip, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ciarán Todd was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Ryon Callaghan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 83 played minutes Monasteroris FC got a freekick which was hit by Ciarán Todd. If Ciarán Todd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Nolagh players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
