After 20 played minutes Clon got a freekick which was hit by Cianán McCollion. Richard Silke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. After having played for 39 minutes, Berkeley Cronin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Berkeley Cronin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tyrone Lester charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tyrone Lester the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tyrone Lester hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After 59 played minutes Reamann McNamara rounded Millroad's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. The supporters of Clon booed when Millroad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred McWilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Berkeley Cronin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clon's supporters rose to their feet, but Berkeley Cronin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brite Keegan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Millroad getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Bearchan Keegan hit a great ball. If Berkeley Cronin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. In the 79th minute Richard Silke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boroimhe Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Richard Silke had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Boroimhe Hunt. Clon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Richard Silke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 84 minutes into the match, Millroad's goalkeeper Brite Keegan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Berkeley Cronin. Brite Keegan made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Berkeley Cronin sent off a good shot on target. Reamann McNamara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Berkeley Cronin got free with Brite Keegan in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded Clon left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Millroad.
