In the 14th match minute, Ballyeighan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braonain Cronin to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beachain McOliver during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Beachain McOliver kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Beara McPeter was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 20 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, one of Lisdoonvarna:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lisdoonvarna. Irving Doyle shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Pearse McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cathal Dempsey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Darby Kelly made a huge save. In the 40thth minute of the game Donlan Mullan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lisdoonvarna's Darby Kelly was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lisdoonvarna's Darby Kelly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cathal Dempsey in the 45th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Darby Kelly successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
