A collision led to Ballinwillin getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Bardan McSteven hit a great ball. Ballinwillin's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Breenan McVictor scored to the left of an out of position Shannon Savic, making the score, 1-0. After 13 played minutes Sligo got a freekick which was hit by Healy Benson. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Healy Benson during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Healy Benson kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The supporters of Ballinwillin booed when Sligo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terence Palmer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sligo's Rowley McWill got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 29 played minutes Ballinwillin got a freekick which was hit by Berchan Crowe. Shannon Savic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breenan McVictor in the 32nd minute of the match. Dawayne McTommy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eoghan McBjarton, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 40th minute, Breslin Benson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dawayne McTommy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reidy Glen Crowe's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Shannon Savic acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 47th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bram Caffrey. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After 50 played minutes Ballinwillin got a freekick which was hit by Berchan Crowe. Lewis Harkin kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. A hard shot by Berchan McFrank from long distance, 53 minutes into the match, got Dawayne McTommy's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Dillon Scully took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Shannon Savic. Shannon Savic dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 59 minutes into the match, Ballinwillin's goal looked a bit too open when Rowley McWill came free, but Shannon Savic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Eoghan McBjarton fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballinwillin's protests and gave Eoghan McBjarton a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ballinwillin's Eoghan McBjarton got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Ballinwillin's Shannon Savic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rowley McWill in the 68th minute of play. Breenan McVictor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Shannon Savic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Ballinwillin's Reidy Glen Crowe ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dawayne McTommy. Dawayne McTommy yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Breenan McVictor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Shannon Savic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shannon Savic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rowley McWill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Sligo's Breenan McVictor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shannon Savic narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eoghan McBjarton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Dawayne McTommy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Reidy Glen Crowe reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dawayne McTommy. The goal made the score 3-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sligo had won after a very even match.
