Meenacung's Darragh McMichel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baiscend McJohnny in the 8th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Baiscend McJohnny in the 11th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Coinneach Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glenn Tracy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Baiscend McJohnny managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cairlinn's supporters rose to their feet, but Baiscend McJohnny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darragh McMichel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th minute, Nollaig Doyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Meenacung's Tipraite Walker in action when he in the 28th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Baiscend McJohnny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Darragh McMichel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cairlinn getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. John McBjarton hit a great ball. In the 36th minute of the match Beachain Mulvihill shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kevion Bayes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Geralt Cassin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Coinneach McCollion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darragh McMichel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baiscend McJohnny in the 44th minute of play. If Coinneach Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Coinneach Lester was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Meenacung's Coinneach McCollion got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute Coinneach Lester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darragh McMichel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glenn Tracy in the 72nd minute of play forced Cairlinn's goalkeeper Kevion Bayes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Geralt Cassin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meenacung's supporters rose to their feet, but Geralt Cassin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevion Bayes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
