Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Breenan McVictor started the match with the kick off. Bedilia Kelly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dawayne McTommy made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Bedilia Kelly sent off a good shot on target. When Breenan McVictor fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sligo's protests and gave Breenan McVictor a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th match minute, Sligo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breenan McVictor to maneuver through the defense. If Joshua Sheridan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rowley McWill took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Banan Deans. Banan Deans dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rowley McWill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Banan Deans having to interfere. George McIan hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Maryfield's Banan Deans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breenan McVictor in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Dillon Scully hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Joshua Sheridan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maryfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Joshua Sheridan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dawayne McTommy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joshua Sheridan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rowley McWill struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Banan Deans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sligo. After having played for 39 minutes, Bedilia Kelly managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maryfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bedilia Kelly was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Maryfield defense, Breenan McVictor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Banan Deans. The Maryfield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Banan Deans should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joshua Sheridan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bedilia Kelly in the 51st minute of play forced Sligo's goalkeeper Dawayne McTommy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, Bedilia Kelly left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maryfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. If Rowley McWill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Breslin Benson kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Breenan McVictor might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Banan Deans. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Breenan McVictor ran back to his position shaking his head. Joshua Sheridan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dawayne McTommy having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sligo defense, Bedilia Kelly kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dawayne McTommy. The Sligo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dawayne McTommy should have stopped the shot. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
