The supporters of Donagheumper booed when Sligo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rowley McWill didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Bras McCready managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Donagheumper's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bras McCready was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donagheumper's Reagan McNamara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Donagheumper from getting a goal against them. Donagheumper's Reagan McNamara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breenan McVictor in the 42nd minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bras McCready made a kick off. Donagheumper were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Sligo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ardán Hughes took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Ardán Hughes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dawayne McTommy quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After having played for 57 minutes, Bras McCready managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bairre Perth hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Reagan McNamara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rowley McWill in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute of the match Terence Palmer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reagan McNamara skillfully saved the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Sligo's goalkeeper Dawayne McTommy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan McPeter. Reagan McNamara came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Sligo's Rowley McWill. But to his dismay, Rowley McWill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 78th minute, Rowley McWill left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sligo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Sligo's Rowley McWill got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Sligo booed when Donagheumper was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Glen Crowe didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bras McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
