The audience was convinced that Baiscend McJohnny's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kieran Branson was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Kieran Branson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baiscend McJohnny went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Cairlinn's Kevion Bayes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Cairlinn from getting a goal against them. Gearroid Gillmour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Kevion Bayes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 18 minutes, John McBjarton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cairlinn and the Kilteely players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Kilteely was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barin Harkin to maneuver through the defense. Críostóir Duggan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kieran Branson. Kilteely's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. John McBjarton might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kieran Branson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John McBjarton ran back to his position shaking his head. Gearroid Gillmour recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute, Timothy Ramsey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gearroid Gillmour was the one to do the kick off. Patton McBjarton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Kevion Bayes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Coinneach Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kieran Branson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Coinneach Lester in the 73rd minute of the match. Kieran Branson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baiscend McJohnny in the 77th minute. With a little luck, Kilteely's Kieran Branson got control of the ball when Baiscend McJohnny tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Kilteely's goal looked a bit too open when Coinneach Lester came free, but Kieran Branson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flann Colwell's late challenge caught a Cairlinn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flann Colwell helped the player get up and apologised. Flann Colwell hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Kieran Branson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baiscend McJohnny in the 88th minute. Brazil Costello hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Coinneach Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baiscend McJohnny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Kieran Branson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Kilteely supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cairlinn's performance. The match ended with a win for Cairlinn.
