Rathglass's Beollan McSteven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caimin McBrand in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Rathglass's Baoithin Ramsey got a free kick in the 10th minute. Beollan McSteven stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Terry Savic's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brendanus Sheridan got free with Reginald McDecland in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the game, Pat Palmer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laught's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rathglass the free kick. A collision led to Laught getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Pat Palmer hit a great ball. Terry Savic fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beollan McSteven having to interfere. Caimin McBrand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reginald McDecland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beltany Mullan in the 39th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Rathglass's Brendanus Sheridan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reginald McDecland narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Laught's goal looked a bit too open when Beltany Mullan came free, but Reginald McDecland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Terry Savic made a kick off. Brendanus Sheridan took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reginald McDecland. Reginald McDecland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Fionntán McJohnny's late challenge caught a Rathglass's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fionntán McJohnny helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th minute, Fionntán McJohnny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Terry Savic recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 72 minutes, Beltany Mullan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rathglass's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beltany Mullan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beollan McSteven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terry Savic in the 75th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Beltany Mullan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rathglass fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After 80 played minutes Laught got a freekick which was hit by Donegal Palmer. Beltany Mullan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Reginald McDecland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 87 in the game by Caimin McBrand from a close distance when the talented Beollan McSteven managed to make a qualified save. Rathglass's players were relieved. Caoilte Jameson kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Reginald McDecland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brendanus Sheridan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laught's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
