Spaville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skenahincha FC the free kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After 60 played minutes Skenahincha FC got a freekick which was hit by Harrigan Horgan. Lee McGlynn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Dermot McDonald made a precise shot to the right of Suibhne Branson. Skenahincha FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Ciarán Murphy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 76 played minutes Spaville got a freekick which was hit by Tathan McStephen . After 79 minutes, Torin Caffey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Skenahincha FC and the Spaville players grew even worse after the yellow card. Spaville's Dermot McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Spaville's goalkeeper Beagan Harkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Berrin McWillie. When Ciarán Murphy came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Skenahincha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciarán Murphy couldn't finish the play.
