Boylan Hunt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caolán McDecland having to interfere. Braoin Costello struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Antaine McIan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kinsaley FC. After having played for 12 minutes, Braoin Costello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kinsaley FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Braoin Costello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Braoin Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 19 minutes into the match, Riversdale's goalkeeper Antaine McIan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braoin Costello. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beehan McCready in the 23rd minute of play forced Kinsaley FC's goalkeeper Caolán McDecland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Beehan McCready left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Riversdale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Riversdale's Antaine McIan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Riversdale from getting a goal against them. 32 minutes into the match, Riversdale's goalkeeper Antaine McIan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braoin Costello. Tormaigh Keegan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antaine McIan having to interfere. After 36 played minutes Kinsaley FC got a freekick which was hit by Kennedy Tracy. In the 42nd minute, Shane Frankson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Beehan McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Beehan McCready was the one to do the kick off. Caolán McDecland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Boylan Hunt in the 51st minute. If Braoin Costello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Kinsaley FC's Braoin Costello in 55 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Antaine McIan guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Braoin Costello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Antaine McIan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braoin Costello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 58 minutes, Tormaigh Keegan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kinsaley FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tormaigh Keegan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Braoin Costello scored 1-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antaine McIan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Garrett Duggan's late challenge caught a Kinsaley FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Garrett Duggan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Kinsaley FC booed when Riversdale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garrett Duggan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tormaigh Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95thth minute of the game Braoin Costello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Riversdale's Antaine McIan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kinsaley FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Riversdale for a fine match.
