Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Baiscend Dunne made the kick off and thus started the match. Lorcan McNamee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teagan Cronin, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Grogagh's Boyne McPhilip suffered a sore thigh after 12 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Brant Caffey fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palatine's protests and gave Brant Caffey a yellow card for diving instead. Flannery McJames could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Lorcan McNamee made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breaghdha Gallagher in the 19th minute of play forced Palatine's goalkeeper Gearard Branson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Banban Mulvihill notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Palatine's Gearard Branson. Gearard Branson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 29th minute, Shannon McGlenn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 32 minutes, Teagan Cronin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palatine and the Grogagh players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Palatine was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teagan Cronin to maneuver through the defense. Lorcan McNamee stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baiscend Dunne's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. If Baiscend Dunne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baiscend Dunne in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lorcan McNamee saved Grogagh from getting behind. Lewis Dempsey hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Flannery McJames recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Palatine players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Grogagh were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Breaghdha Gallagher to make the kick off. If Banban Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Breaghdha Gallagher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grogagh's supporters rose to their feet, but Breaghdha Gallagher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gearard Branson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rdth minute of the game Baiscend Dunne who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grogagh's Lorcan McNamee was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Grogagh's Breaghdha Gallagher got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Palatine's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Breaghdha Gallagher fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Grogagh's Lorcan McNamee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flannery McJames in the 79th minute of play. After 92 played minutes Grogagh got a freekick which was hit by Banban Mulvihill. Lorcan McNamee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flannery McJames in the 95th minute of play. Flannery McJames received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Lorcan McNamee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Grogagh had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
