Ryley Gollogley charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Flannery McJames notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Coolbanagher's Iarla McDonald. Iarla McDonald was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Coolbanagher's Donoghue McWilliam got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baiscend Dunne to make the kick off. Arnold Savic's late challenge caught a Palatine's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Coolbanagher's players were relieved. 65 minutes into the match, Coolbanagher's goal looked a bit too open when Baiscend Dunne came free, but Iarla McDonald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brant Caffey kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Coolbanagher's goalkeeper Iarla McDonald had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flannery McJames. The supporters of Coolbanagher booed when Palatine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teagan Cronin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Gerald Kirby's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gearard Branson was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. If Gerald Kirby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flannery McJames could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Iarla McDonald made a huge save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Palatine walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
