Spectators: 6776 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1776, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lee McGlynn took the kick off in the first half of the match. A collision led to Gouldavoher getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Brendon McWill hit a great ball. Dermot McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Desmond O'Brien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Lee McGlynn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spaville's supporters rose to their feet, but Lee McGlynn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Desmond O'Brien breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lee McGlynn might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Desmond O'Brien. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lee McGlynn ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 15 minutes, Lee McGlynn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spaville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lee McGlynn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lee McGlynn might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Desmond O'Brien. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lee McGlynn ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 31st minute, Blaine O'Down got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 32 minutes into the game, Gouldavoher's Bohannon Byrne nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Beagan Harkin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. A collision led to Spaville getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Bragan Dunne hit a great ball. If Dermot McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Blaine O'Down stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Spaville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barhart Holt to maneuver through the defense. Beagan Harkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Scott Cooney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, Lee McGlynn fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Desmond O'Brien made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Dermot McDonald sent off a good shot on target. If Lee McGlynn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute Lee McGlynn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Desmond O'Brien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dermot McDonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Desmond O'Brien having to interfere. Blaine O'Down fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beagan Harkin having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Spaville's zone, Bohannon Byrne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beagan Harkin came out of the goal and Bohannon Byrne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lee McGlynn in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Desmond O'Brien saved Gouldavoher from getting behind. Desmond O'Brien made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dermot McDonald in the 83rd minute. Desmond O'Brien was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lee McGlynn showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 84 minute of play. Beagan Harkin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bohannon Byrne in the 94th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Spaville players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
