Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Reagan McFrank got the match started through his kick off. Aengus McPeter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reagan McFrank in the 4th minute of play. Gaynor McBrandon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Killbarly's Aengus McPeter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reagan McFrank in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Drin's goal looked a bit too open when Irwin McFrank came free, but Birr Hughes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aengus McPeter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Frankson in the 19th minute of the match. Gaynor McBrandon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Birr Hughes made a huge save. Roland Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Irwin McFrank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birr Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Killbarly defense, Reagan McFrank kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aengus McPeter. The Killbarly fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aengus McPeter should have stopped the shot. Drin's Artur Frankson got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Killbarly's zone, Reagan McFrank stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aengus McPeter came out of the goal and Reagan McFrank tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Drin were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Irwin McFrank to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Killbarly's Aengus McPeter got control of the ball when Artur Frankson tried to sneak it across the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Killbarly's Irwin McFrank sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Birr Hughes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Artur Frankson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aengus McPeter having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Irwin McFrank got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Drin were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Killbarly's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roland Robinson took the corner. Beairtle Dillon tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Aengus McPeter. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 63rd minute. Reagan McFrank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Aengus McPeter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aengus McPeter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reagan McFrank, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 72nd minute, Art Deery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the game, Theobald McAaron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Drin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Killbarly the free kick. After 77 played minutes Drin got a freekick which was hit by Theobald McAaron. In the game's 78th minute Killbarly's Art Deery took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Birr Hughes and thus the score was 1-2. After 81 minutes, Bradley Hunt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Drin and the Killbarly players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Killbarly booed when Drin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradley Hunt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Killbarly's Irwin McFrank got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gaynor McBrandon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birr Hughes having to interfere. In the 96th minute Gaynor McBrandon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birr Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Drin's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
