After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Irwin McFrank managed to get in a good position for a shot. Killbarly's supporters rose to their feet, but Irwin McFrank was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boethis Glen Crowe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Irwin McFrank blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Boethis Glen Crowe having to make a save. After 42 played minutes Laught Utd got a freekick which was hit by Berkeley Caffrey. If Irwin McFrank had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Turlough McPhil made the kick off in the second half. Aengus McPeter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Turlough McPhil, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Berkeley Caffrey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aengus McPeter. Killbarly's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Berkeley Caffrey was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 61st minute Gaynor McBrandon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boethis Glen Crowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaynor McBrandon in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boethis Glen Crowe saved Laught Utd from getting behind. If Gaynor McBrandon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Laught Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Irwin McFrank came free, but Boethis Glen Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Blanaid Deans charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Blanaid Deans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Laught Utd's Boethis Glen Crowe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaynor McBrandon in the 78th minute of play. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Críostóir McStephen's late challenge caught a Laught Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Críostóir McStephen helped the player get up and apologised. The Killbarly fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. In the 90th minute Gaynor McBrandon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boethis Glen Crowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aengus McPeter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Banban Benson in the 97th minute.
