After having played for 52 minutes, Bartley Dempsey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dungloe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bartley Dempsey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bartley Dempsey's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Donoghue Caffrey firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 58thth minute of the game Beara Hughes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dungloe's Blathmacc Brennan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartley Dempsey in the 61st minute of play forced Cluid's goalkeeper Donoghue Caffrey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eamonn Walker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donoghue Caffrey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 90th minute, Beara Hughes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Cluid fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Dungloe were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
