Spectators: 6769 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Keelin John kicked off to start the match. Bartley Dempsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Silke having to interfere. Keelin John fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blathmacc Brennan having to interfere. Conn MaCollin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Silke having to interfere. In the 14thth minute of the game Keelin John who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dungloe's Blathmacc Brennan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Ballinaboy's goal looked a bit too open when Tierney Ghee came free, but Damian Silke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Torrey Benson fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballinaboy's protests and gave Torrey Benson a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes Ballinaboy got a freekick which was hit by Torrey Benson. Geary Todd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blathmacc Brennan having to interfere. Bartley Dempsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Damian Silke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Bartley Dempsey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damian Silke was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After having played for 38 minutes, Tierney Ghee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dungloe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tierney Ghee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Damian Silke came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Dungloe's Bartley Dempsey. But to his dismay, Bartley Dempsey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The Ballinaboy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dungloe were winning 0-2.

Bartley Dempseys short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Damian Silke to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Blathmacc Brennan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geary Todd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bartley Dempsey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damian Silke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bartley Dempsey got free with Damian Silke in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keelin John in the 60th minute of play forced Dungloe's goalkeeper Blathmacc Brennan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tierney Ghee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tierney Ghee fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Jeremiah Brennan , 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Blathmacc Brennan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geary Todd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bartley Dempsey might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damian Silke. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bartley Dempsey ran back to his position shaking his head. After 72 played minutes Ballinaboy got a freekick which was hit by Brennan Lester. Bar Gollogley, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 75th minute Geary Todd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blathmacc Brennan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bartley Dempsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ballinaboy's Brennan Lester got a free kick in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tierney Ghee in the 79th minute of play forced Ballinaboy's goalkeeper Damian Silke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Bartley Dempsey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Damian Silke was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Damian Silke made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bartley Dempsey in the 90th minute. Bartley Dempsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Silke having to interfere. Tierney Ghee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Ballinaboy's Brennan Lester got a free kick in the 95th minute. Dungloe's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
