The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Keelin John blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Royan O'Brien having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blavock McGlynn in the 32nd minute of play forced Ballinaboy's goalkeeper Damian Silke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Silke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blavock McGlynn in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Kilbeheny Utd's George Jameson got a free kick in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geary Todd in the 43rd minute of play forced Kilbeheny Utd's goalkeeper Royan O'Brien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Silke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blavock McGlynn in the 46th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Keelin John to make the kick off. George Jameson's late challenge caught a Ballinaboy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. George Jameson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ballinaboy booed when Kilbeheny Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Jameson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute, Keelin John ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ballinaboy's players were relieved. Cullan Lavine kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Kilbeheny Utd's Pearce Horgan tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With 65 minutes on the clock, Beothach Deans commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match had been going on for 67 minutes, Kilbeheny Utd's Pearce Horgan got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Damian Silke. Boynton Walker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Silke having to interfere.
