The audience thought a goal was coming when Boyle Walker got free with Beagan Gough in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bebhinn Willson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kerrigan Morrison having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Cloghatanny's goal looked a bit too open when Bebhinn Willson came free, but Kerrigan Morrison reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Cloghatanny getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Quaid McVictor hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rorry Johnson during the 28th minute. Cloghatanny's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bebhinn Willson was the one to do the kick off. Beagan Gough made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carrig McBrand in the 53rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cloghatanny's Fionntán O'Brien got a free kick in the 58th minute. Kerrigan Morrison was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rorry Johnson. Boyle Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the game, Cloghatanny's Carrig McBrand nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Beagan Gough made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 67 minutes into the game, Clondoolusk's Artuir Gillmour nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Bebhinn Willson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clondoolusk's supporters rose to their feet, but Bebhinn Willson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kerrigan Morrison breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kerrigan Morrison didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 77th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Boyle Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kerrigan Morrison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Troy Cassin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kerrigan Morrison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Clondoolusk's Bebhinn Willson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kerrigan Morrison narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Clondoolusk's Bebhinn Willson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kerrigan Morrison. That made the score 1-4 after 95 minutes of play.
