A very good chance. The Rossanean fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Rossanean's Caimin McSteven looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Caimin McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cloghatanny's Kerrigan Morrison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barclay McJohnny in the 33rd minute of play. A collision led to Cloghatanny getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Gearalt McCready hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carrig McBrand made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Cloghatanny got a freekick which was hit by Fionntán O'Brien. When Caimin McSteven came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Rossanean fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caimin McSteven couldn't finish the play. When Troy Martyn fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cloghatanny's protests and gave Troy Martyn a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cloghatanny getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Troy Martyn hit a great ball. Timothy Duggan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boyle Walker, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Barclay McJohnny struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Kerrigan Morrison didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rossanean. After a rather tough play, Rossanean's Bram McNamara got a free kick in the 69th minute. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rossanean's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Barnaby McFrank was slow to take the kick. During this time Cloghatanny's players had a chance to rest. Boyle Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boyle Walker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy Duggan having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyle Walker in the 80th minute of play forced Rossanean's goalkeeper Timothy Duggan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Rossanean getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Reginald Bayes hit a great ball. The Rossanean supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rossanean would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
