With a left leg Beairtle Mullan saved Drumnakilly AFC from getting behind. Beairtle Mullan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barclay McJohnny in the 12th minute. If Breccan Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beairtle Mullan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caimin McSteven, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Breccan Lester struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Timothy Duggan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Drumnakilly AFC. Barclay McJohnnys short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Beairtle Mullan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet as Caimin McSteven kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Beairtle Mullan. That made the score 1-0 in the 28 minute of play. Caimin McSteven blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Beairtle Mullan having to make a save. After taking down the ball on Rossanean's corner Gordon Cronin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Beairtle Mullan quite easily take care of the ball. Breccan Lester kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Tormaigh Dimson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Timothy Duggan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Tormaigh Dimson made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Donavin McWilliam was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rossanean's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Drumnakilly AFC the free kick. The supporters of Drumnakilly AFC booed when Rossanean was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donavin McWilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Breccan Lester might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timothy Duggan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Breccan Lester ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 61st minute Caimin McSteven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beairtle Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tormaigh Dimson in the 72nd minute of play forced Rossanean's goalkeeper Timothy Duggan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Drumnakilly AFC booed when Rossanean was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reginald Bayes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tormaigh Dimson in the 78th minute of play forced Rossanean's goalkeeper Timothy Duggan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timothy Duggan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tormaigh Dimson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 80 played minutes Drumnakilly AFC got a freekick which was hit by Brannan McNamee. In the 82nd minute, Caimin McSteven got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Barclay McJohnny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beairtle Mullan came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Rossanean's Barclay McJohnny. But to his dismay, Barclay McJohnny quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Barclay McJohnny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Beairtle Mullan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 95 minutes, Breccan Lester managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Drumnakilly AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breccan Lester was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Drumnakilly AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
