After a defensive mix-up in Cloghatanny's zone, Lewy Palmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kerrigan Morrison came out of the goal and Lewy Palmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Blar Prunty's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kerrigan Morrison was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Blar Prunty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Blar Prunty might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kerrigan Morrison. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Blar Prunty ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 12 minutes, Pawd Hughes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glentogher's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pawd Hughes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. George Palmer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Kerrigan Morrison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, George Palmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Glentogher's supporters rose to their feet, but George Palmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kerrigan Morrison breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barnaby McFrank kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boyle Walker during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Cloghatanny getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Boyle Walker hit a great ball. Bressail Rutherford took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kerrigan Morrison. Cloghatanny's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Boyle Walker came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Cloghatanny fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boyle Walker couldn't finish the play. When Branigan Hamilton fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cloghatanny's protests and gave Branigan Hamilton a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd minute, Branigan Hamilton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Blar Prunty in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kerrigan Morrison saved Cloghatanny from getting behind. In the 36th minute of the match Pawd Hughes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kerrigan Morrison skillfully saved the ball. Blar Prunty took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kerrigan Morrison. Kerrigan Morrison dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 40th minute, Blar Prunty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 43 minutes, Blar Prunty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glentogher's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blar Prunty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blar Prunty in the 45th minute of play forced Cloghatanny's goalkeeper Kerrigan Morrison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If George Palmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Palmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carrig McBrand to strike the kick off in the second half. Blar Prunty in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kerrigan Morrison, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 57 minutes into the match, Cloghatanny's goalkeeper Kerrigan Morrison had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blar Prunty. With a little luck, Cloghatanny's Kerrigan Morrison got control of the ball when Blar Prunty tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee showed Carrig McBrand the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carrig McBrand hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Glentogher's Blar Prunty got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
